I am infuriated and dissappointed in Canon. I need some help. ix6820

Just recieved my ix6820 so I could print 11x17 newsletter from my mac. There is no mac os x software or drivers in the box or on the canon website. There are drivers for the ix6520 and the ix7000 but not the ix6820 so I cant get the printer installed on my iMac. I then proceeded to open windows on parallel to try to install it there just to try to find a workaround and be able to use the printer. No such luck. The software wouldnt install without an error message. So I go back to Canons website for windows drivers and there are none for this printer and windows. Again I found the drivers for both the other printers for windows but not the ix6820.

Of course Canon is not a large enough company to have technical support open on the weekend I guess which is ridiculous to me so I have to wait until Monday.

If anyone can guide me through the install for my mac os x or point me in the right direction, I would truely appreciate it.

Here is what we figured out. The printer is new and wasn't released officially from Canon yet. They were being shipped to stores and stores began selling them before they were supposed to. Once I got through to a CSR, he had me go to canons alternate website were he had all the drivers and software.

Hi, Savdog01!

So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know exactly which versions of Mac OS and Windows you're using. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

If this is a time-sensitive matter, our US-based technical support team is standing by, ready to help 24/7 via Email at http://bit.ly/EmailCanon or by phone at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) weekdays between 10 AM and 10 PM ET (7 AM to 7 PM PT).

Thanks and have a great day!

Os x snow leopard. It the latest Mac OS. The windows version doesn't matter because I want to print using my Mac and through windows.

It looks like this is a very new printer model; it takes time foir the website to be populated.

However, according to the Canon site:

What's in the Box

iX6820 Wireless Business Inkjet Printer
Power Cord
Setup Ink Tanks
Setup CD-ROM

Manual and other documents

If you did not get a CD you should go back to where you bought it.

It's a windows cd. I need the Mac drivers. How can they put a product out with no drivers or software? The paperwork says you need an internet connection for the Mac OS drivers but there are none to be found. I tried downloading drivers for both the 5820 and the 7000 and I can't get neither to work.

So I got an email back from Canon. They said there are currently no drivers available for download for this printer because it is too new and to check back regularly on the download page. What the hell is that? Thats like selling someone a car and once they get it home tell them to just wait until they make the key and just keep checking back. That is sad and I am pissed. The box says Mac OS X compatible. HOW? Where are the drivers and software. I am on hold now and am boiling. This is something that cant be explained good enough to me. Now to see if they can come up with something. I have always been a fan of hp. I decided to make a change due to the cost of ink but will now reconsider going back or at least using another manufacturer. This is ridiculous.
