How do I fix the "U052" error? It is stating that I have the wrong print head.

When I was printing some business documents, my printer stopped working and threw the error code "U052" and stated, "The type of print head is incorrect.  Install the correct print head."  How do I fix this problem?

Yes, I had the same problem and while printing out legal documents trying to meet filing deadlines! Not even a warning like when prompted that ink is low - talk about a manufacturer's defect and such being unreliable! Very disappointed.

have had this error on two previous pixma canon printers and now have it again on another that my father in law bought.  On previous printers I tried multiple things and wastede lots of time without luck - seems to be a timeout in the printer or a software stop rather than an issue with the printhead.  On previous printers cleaning the printhead or replacing the print head did not solve the problem.  Think this is a canon strategy to get you to buy a new printer and throw out the ink that will not be compatible with the next generation printer you are forced to buy.

I think you are on to something!!!
