How do I clear an air pocket in a Canon G7020 ink line?

I have a relatively new G7020 and as I did some print head cleaning and deep cleaning I would get fewer colors printing the nozzle check.  When I opened the cover I noticed an air pocket in the ink line.  How do I get rid of air pockets?  I don't see anything in the maintenance manual.  

It would be really nice if Canon allowed us to specify which ink color has the air pocket to avoid wasting ink from other reservoirs.

I will add that I keep getting error code 5200 which I believe is empty tank. All ink tanks are at 75% or above as the printer is practically new.  I would like to understand how the air is getting into the line so close to the print heads.  Should I put some vaseline on the connections to the print head cartridge to ensure an airtight seal to avoid back syphoning of air into the lines?

Based on the description and error code, it sounds like a hardware failure and the printer would need service.
