Hi, can anybody tell me what icc profile to use when printing Metallic Lustre/Gloss paper?ip4850.

Hi, i have a canon ip4850 printer, & would like to try some Metalliv Lustre/Gloss papers.

The icc downloads that come with my printer are

GL2/SG2

GL3/SG3

MP2

PT1

PT2

PT/ 

can someone tell me what icc profile to use, also for canon Fine Art Museum Etching 350gsm paper.

Hi. The paper supplier will have ICC profiles for the paper/printer combinations they recommend.

 

For example, Red River Paper provides ICC profiles for an ip4820; they recommend Photo Paper Plus Glossy as the media type.

 

If the paper supplier doesn't have a profile just try selecting Photo Paper Plus Glossy from the printer driver. 

 

I don't know the details of your printer, but Museum Etching is a heavy paper and it needs a straight paper path. Does your printer have that option?

 

The Canon paper is made by Hahnemuehle; they don't have an ICC profile for your printer. You could try selecting Matte Photo Paper and see how that prints.
