Error iP6700D Paper output tray is closed

Does anyone know how to fix the error- Paper output tray is closed Open the paper output tray.  I have a Dell computer windows 10. Is it a compatibility thing ?

Please follow these steps:

1.  With your PIXMA iP6700D powered on, please disconnect the power cord and USB cable (if you are using one).

2.  Reconnect the power cord and turn your printer on.

3.  Make sure paper is loaded into the sheet feeder.

4.  Press and hold the RESUME button on your PIXMA iP6700D until the power light blinks two times.

When you release the button, does a test page print?

If not, does the error light blink?

If the error light blinks, how many times does the error light blink before there is a pause?

Is the power light blinking as well?  Or is the power light steady?

It still does not work.. Keeps saying output tray is closed.  I am running a new version of windows, is it to new for this older printer iP6700D ??

Try reducing the amount of paper you insert. According to Canon, overfilling the paper tray is the most common reason for the tray's incomplete closure.
