Hi Stephiee White! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that your PIXMA TS3522 is displaying an E,5,9 error when you go to print. I can understand how frustrating it is to keep getting the same error.
The E,5,9 error indicates a problem with the paper size setting. You will need to check the paper size setting at the printer and on your computer. They will need to be the same. For example, if you have letter-size paper selected at the computer, you will need to make sure that the paper setting on the printer is set to LTR.
I recommend that you look at the printer’s display first. The display located near the buttons is divided into an upper and lower half. You’ll see the selected paper size in the lower half of that little screen.
If you want to print on Letter size paper, please make sure that you see LTR on the lower part of the printer's display. If you just see the letter L by itself, you’ll need to change it to LTR. You can change the selected paper size by pressing the Paper Select button below the screen. The symbol on the Paper Select button looks like a sheet of paper with the top left edge folded.

https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART179563
If you visit the following section of the manual, please follow the illustrations and instructions in steps 6 and 7.
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TS3500%20series/EN/UG/ug-107.html
Making sure that the correct paper size is selected at the printer is only the first part of fixing this error. You will also need to make sure that the correct paper size is selected at your computer.
When you print from a computer or other device, please check the print settings. You should be able to select the paper size in that window. Please make sure that the paper size setting in the computer's print window matches the paper size that you selected at the printer.
For more information on choosing the print setting on a Windows computer, please visit the following section of the manual:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/PrinterDriver/W/TS3500%20series/1.0/EN/PPG/dg-c_basic.html
(Please note that the print settings window may look different depending on the program you are using.)
If you have a Mac computer, please visit the following section of the manual for more information about the print settings:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/PrinterDriver/M/TS3500%20series/1.0/EN/PPG/dg-c_pc_basic.html
If the paper size setting on your computer matches the paper size setting at the printer, you will avoid the E,5,9 error.
I hope this information helps. Thanks again.

Is the same solution suggested for model TS3450? I have found that I can print a Word document with no problem, but another Word document with text copied and pasted from an email will not print; some of the text was translated via google.

I am soooooo frustrated with this printer!!!!!!!
If I want to print a 4x6 inch picture on a letter size sheet of paper, that should be my choice...not someone sitting in a cubicle somewhere with a college degree hanging on the wall programming the printer to tell me I can't print on letter size paper. I want a small picture on a big piece of paper so I can add handwritten notes. This is only one of the issues that make me REALLY regret buying this printer.

Custom setting "detect mismatched paper settings when printing from a computer" was on by default on my TS 3320 (Why?! The printer wasn't finicky enough?!). To turn that setting off,
Do not detect mismatched paper settings when printing from a computer
and OK - Apply. You'll get any error if you haven't first deleted all active print jobs. I also had to turn my printer off and on for the Apply to work without an error message.

Thank you. I fixed the problem by going back to my old printer. This one was just sitting here taking up space waiting to be taken out to fill a pothole in the driveway. I will give it another try.

You're welcome. I think it'll work, but I just discovered that my steps may need repeating per computer, and that computers that cannot run the IJ Printer Assistant Tool will be at the mercy of the printer's internal paper size check setting. So change that setting via the printer's web server at https://192.168.x.y/rui/index.html - Device settings - Custom settings has "Detect paper setting mismatch" (the opposite phrasing as in the IJ Printer Assistant Tool) where x and y can be found by pressing your printer's "i" button and getting a configuration printout. (N.B. in the Tool, OK must be clicked to affect a change.)
I'd also note JayC1's https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TS3500%20series/EN/UG/ug-107.html link, as that page shows how to easily set paper size at the printer.
