Comments on my service call

Hello to the Canon Community.  My wife & I own a Canon G3270 Megatank 4 in 1 printer.  The print quality with black ink has deteriorated rapidly.  We tried Google-searching how-to's for self repair.  But nothing we tried seemed to improve the black ink print quality.  Various web sites claim that this printer has NO way to adjust the darkness of the print.  We were ready to buy a new printer, but decided to call the service department at Canon first, to give them a try.

I called (800)385-2155 and must have been lucky.  I got to a live person in just a few minutes!   Kathleen answered the phone and was easy to understand when she asked me a few questions before starting the service advice for our Canon printer.  The understanding over the phone is VERY important to me; many large companies have farmed out their customer service to overseas companies where the service tech speaks poor English.

Kathleen had me go through several different screens on our printer; more than I knew existed.  We finally got to a step called Load the Print Head.  This process took about 6 minutes.  The black & white copies look as good now as they did when our printer was brand new!  Thanks again to Kathleen in the Canon service department, she was great to work with!

Thanks for sharing and SO glad Kathleen was able to assist.  I know Canon has some wonderful technical support and it's always great when someone takes the time to share their positive experiences.  Thank you.

>> Owns/Owned both Canon EOS mirrorless full-frame and APS-C cameras and associated RF, RF-S and EF adapted lenses - inventory tends to change on short notice. Same for flashes, tripods, bags, straps, etc.
Plus>> Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 Printer
>>The opinions and assistance are my own. Please don't blame Canon for any mistakes on my part.
