This is the most absolutely ridiculous design that will ensure anyone that encounters it will never buy a CANON printer or product again. After dealing with multiple ink flushes required to clean the print heads I run into this error (5B00) that essentially bricks the printer when there is no actual software or hardware problem.
You're kidding me right? I need to bring my printer in for service because of an ink absorber pad counter in the software?

Greetings,
Please keep in mind the ink absorber pad does not have an unlimited capacity. Resetting the ink counter if possible can still result in an overflow situation. This could make a mess.
