Can no longer connect my IMAC to PIXMA G7020 after Mac Tahoe 26 upgrade

Help!   Can no longer print to Canon G7020 from my IMAC.   I suspect it's related to the recent Mac OS update (Tahoe 26).   I've tried everything including reloading drivers, confirming printer/computer/router all on same network, etc...

Any guidance would be most appreciated.   Thank you!

After a major OS upgrade, it might be best to start over.  

Start by visiting the printers and scanners applet and delete the printer using the minus key (-).  Now visit the applications folder and drag anything related to Canon, driver's, utilities, etc. To the trash can.  Important, restart your computer. 

Now visit the support portal for the G7020.

Select downloads, Software and Drivers, Mac, and instead of Tahoe, select Sequoia OS. 

Download the G7000 setup package and the IJ Scan Utility lite.  Do not run the installers yet.

Next, connect your printer to your wireless network using its control panel.  Once confirmed, do the following.  Open a web browser and enter the IP of the printer in the address bar, then press enter.  The printers web server should display. If so, you are ready to run the installers.

Run the G7000 setup first, then the Scan Utility.  

Test print and scan.  If you have any issues,  let us know.

Tried your suggestions.   Still getting the following message in the print queue:  Invalid certificate, check the printer for errors.  Thanks!

Also,  I have confirmed firmware is current version.   Also, checked the date and time as well as issued a new certificate with expiration date of 2036

You made no mention of invalid certificate in your original post.  I've read about this error with Tahoe. Let me do a little research.  

The next path I'd like to pursue is assigning the printer, a static IP address on your router, deleting it from the OS and re-adding as a TCP/IP device and seeing if credentials exist for it in keychain.

Ok.  my apologies on not mentioning the cert error.   LMK about going the static IP address route.  Thx

Once your router is connected to your network, log into the admin portal of your router.  Review the list of Attached Device.  You should be able to assign or reserve a static IP for the device in this menu or the LAN menu.  Note the IP address. 

Once this is done, power cycle the printer using its power button.  After it restarts do as I asked previously.  Open a web browser. Enter the printer's IP address and press enter. Does the printers web server display?

Next, open the Printers and Scanners applet from the Apple menu.  Delete the printer using the minus button (-) option.  Restart your MAC. 

Open the applet again and add the printer using the Globe be which is just to the right of the add printer default icon.

When the dialogue changes, enter the IP address in the top field you've assigned to the printer.  Note, the IP address will populate in the name field also.  This field is editable, so give your printer a friendly name G7020..  whatever you like. 

Down below there's a use field with a drop-down menu. Use it to select the printer driver for the Canon G7020.  Press ok to finish adding the printer then test printing again.

If you still get the certificate error,  we'll need to do more research.

You're welcome.  I'm glad this helped.  The good news is the IP you've assigned to your printer will now never change.  Any device that connects to your network will be able to find and utilize the printer at its "destination IP".
