ImageBrowser EX: Resolving Issues with Copying Instead of Moving Images

aveselov

Has anyone experienced issues with moving images to different folders in the Canon image management software? I encountered a situation where, when trying to drag an image from categories like [Shooting Date], [People], [Landmarks], [Groups], or [History] to a folder in the [All Images] section, the software copies the images instead of moving them. Is this standard behavior? If so, is there a way to change the settings so that the images are actually moved, not just copied? This creates confusion in managing photos, especially when working with a large amount of material. What solutions or workarounds are there to improve image organization in this software?

I tried to follow the recommendation from this link but it didn't work https://mans.io/files/viewer/166930/29

ImageBrowser EX

Greetings aveselov,

Thank you for clarifying on the Canon software you're using. Unfortunately, ImageBrowser EX is software that is no longer updated and no longer supported. You may view the product support page for your Canon product to see available and compatible software that is actively supported by Canon USA:

What recommendation? It say quite clearly that what you want to do DOES NOT HAPPEN.

Can you not delete the files from the the original folders after copying to the All Images folder?

Alternately, instead of using Image Browser, do your file management in Windows File Explorer, or Mac Finder. If you drag with the right mouse button you will get a menu to choose between moving or copying.  The default action, what happens with the left mouse button, varies with where you are moving from and to.
