EOS VR Utility bug after updating to macOS 15.2

After updating my Mac Studio to OS 15.2, the VR Utility Application is no longer working correctly.

When I go to export footage from RAW to ProRes, it stalls out at the 5-min left mark, and never finishes.

Can’t process my VR footage now. Can someone from Canon take a look & release an update?

new version is 1.5.12

1.5.12 doesn't seem to be released yet

Thank you! I was looking on their front page of EOS VR Utility. The software drivers list has it.

Thank you to the Canon team for all your hard work! I’m very happy that after updating the software, file conversion is now working properly.

I hope that future versions of macOS will continue to receive the Canon team’s support.

I’m also very much looking forward to the development of the 180 3D system by the Canon team – the compact body offers great advantages for shooting.

Thanks! ^^

Did a test export of a 7 minute 8K25 RAW LT file. Can confirm that it is working. Took about 25 minutes on an M2 Max.

After updating to 1.5.12, I can export some of my video files to ProRes, but not all. ProRes 422 seems to work every time, but ProRes 4444 occasionally doesn't work. I haven't figured out the exact differences of some of the working files vs. non-working files. They're all RAW LT at 8K 60 fps, and come from a mix of R5m2 and R5 C.

did it get working with the update 1.6.0  I recently had the same problem 2 weeks ago 8K Raw LT on an R5C pro ress ok but pro res 444 no hit or miss. i reached out to canon around the 17th April 2025 i am using the M3ultra mac studio.

Hi Yapstam,

If you haven't updated your EOS VR Utility yet we would recommend updating it. Sometimes if the software is a version or two out of date it can cause issues converting or viewing files. If you need a link to where the current version is available that is HERE. Once you are on the web page click on the Software & Drivers button and it will be in the list.
