Batch of photos from PowerShot SX70 HS not showing in Image Capture

Last night when I was trying to download the photos I had just taken from my PowerShot70HS to image capture all the previous photos showed up but not the new ones. I then took a few test photos and they showed up but not the series I had taken before. I had this happen once before but it was only a couple photos. This time it was about 30 photos. Any ideas why this is happening?

Hi vermontphoto,

I'm sorry to hear some of your photos aren't showing in Image Capture. Through Canon support we only have information on products and services offered directly through Canon, so we have limited information on Image Capture. To trouble shoot that software we would recommend contacting Apple.

On the camera itself there is one thing to double check. If Protection was enabled for those images that can cause them to not be listed in import software. To double check that press the Menu button on the camera, go to the first page of the Playback tab (the blue square with a triangle in it), and select Protect Images. On the next page select Unprotect All Images on Card. Once you've done that check to see if the same thing is happening.
