EOS VR Utility bug after updating to macOS 15.2

After updating my Mac Studio to OS 15.2, the VR Utility Application is no longer working correctly.

When I go to export footage from RAW to ProRes, it stalls out at the 5-min left mark, and never finishes.

Can’t process my VR footage now. Can someone from Canon take a look & release an update?

Looking forward to Canon’s updated version!

I did a fresh install on a Sequoia Mac that didn't have EOS VR Utility installed. The problem definitely appeared on Sequoia. Back on a Sonoma Mac it was working fine.

One guess is that it could be a file access issue which requires specific access settings when writing to the file system - I've had to fix this on some of my own developed apps.

No, You pretty much have to roll back to Sonoma for it to work correctly. I can not believe they make us pay for this app and then do not support it properly. Mac OS 15.2 has been out for months now.

I rolled back and works fine now but that is not an ideal solution.

Whilst the devs are looking at issues, Mac users have the most logical button highlighted with the system accent colour that is the bottom most right button in the workflow. Cancel is on the left.

The Export button is perfect for Windows users, but not Mac users.Screenshot 2025-01-14 at 9.15.40 am.png

Just did a Sample in Activity Monitor. There are a bunch of threads that seem to be stuck waiting.

Same issue here on Sequoia. We need a fix ASAP!

This seems to be still ongoing a month after this post was first made, where are we at on a fix? Can we at least get the previous version to use in the meantime?

I am experiencing this issue as well with MacOS 15.2 and the latest EOS VR Utility 1.5.11.  I tried downgrading to version EOS 1.3 but this program crashes as soon as you open it in MacOS 15.2. I called Canon and it was like they were not even aware.  I hope they resolve this soon as I have a large amount of VR footage I need to process in ProRes and this is honestly unacceptable.  So basically, someone can buy a brand new MacBook Pro, new R5 C, and new dual fisheye 5.2mm, invest $9000-$10000 and not even do anything with it.  As much as Canon charges for their products and the length of time this thread has been open, I expect more urgency.  Everyone with this issue should contact Canon so we can get the ball rolling on a working version of the EOS VR Utility.

Canon, please kindly fix this issue asap. We're paying for a subscription to a software that is not supported on a major OS and have work that depends heavily on this utility.
