EOS Utility 3 (3.17.2) not recognizing R5 (1.8.1) on Mac ventura (13.4.1)) via USB

• My max does not recognize my R5 after a max is update. EOS Utility 3 (3.17.2) not recognizing R5 (1.8.1) on Mac ventura (13.4.1)) via USB. 
  
  
• the eos utility error says to turn off other program accessing the R5 and restart. I don’t see any other obvious program starting. 
  
  
• the download worked fine on the past. 
  
  
• any thoughts on how to solve this problem?

Try deleting all the Canon software, rebooting, reinstalling, and rebooting again.
