EOS Rebel T6i Which Software to download

Kimberley218

I have a Rebel T6i that I am rediscovering-it's been several years.  I have the latest iMac. What software do I need to download on my new computer?  I see the EOS Utility, Picture Style Editor and Digital Photo Professional. Which versions? I would think the newer ones but I'm not sure since it's an older camera.  I tried to use the original disk that came with the camera but it is not compatible(I thought that by downloading that it recommended to update from there).  I'm lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum.
You possibly don’t need to download any software. You can download images from your SD card with a card reader and Apple Image Capture software. You can also use Apple Photos software if you are currently using it for iPhone photos.
If you aren’t currently using any photo software you can download Canon DPP.

There are issues with USB connectivity on Macs with Ventura, so you won’t want EOS Utility.
Picture Styles Editor is a very specialized software that few people seem to use.

Thank you very much for your reply!  Thank you for the info. As for downloading Canon DPP, should I download the most recent version? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but it's an older camera and I am unsure.

Download from the link I provided. It will have the latest version for your camera.

It would be best to get the latest version.  That would be the most compatible with your computer's operating system.   It should also work with RAW files from all of Canon's older cameras.

If you are downloading DPP download the latest version. Also be sure to get the manual.

If you decide to use the Canon software, here is a link to the Canon support site for the T6i. It will have the latest software for your camera.

Download the highest numbered version, that will be the latest. You can also go by the date of the file.
