I can download pictures from my R6 and R&7 bodies to my computer using a card reader but when I try to use the supplied cable connector I get a "Camera not recognized" message on my screen. What can I do to fix this? I also have an Eos Utility icon on my desktop but it does not open when double clicked, could these be related? Thank you in advance for any help with this.
Regards,
Tom Hanna

Tom,
I think I read that Utility 3 is compatible with all models of Canon cameras, and that Utility 2 is not.
I would get the latest version of EOS Utility that Canon has for your computer operating system.

The app notes tell which ones, but earlier vintage cameras like 40D and earlier only work with EOSU2.
If version 2 is needed the user needs to download EOSU 3.13 or earlier, since that will also install V2. Later versions of V3 do not install V2.
