EOS M50 firmware 1.1.0 availability

Hi,

I'm hoping someone on here can assist - I'm trying to find/download the latest firmware for my EOS M50, but can't find it. The download link in the firmware advisory (product support page) just takes me to the 'Software/Drivers' section (which consists of different apps - but no firmware). I was going to call support during business hours, but I'm hoping someone else has encountered this and could share some information.

Firmware advisory: Canon Support | Firmware Notice: EOS M50: Firmware Version 1.1.0

Firmware download link: Download Firmware Version 1.1.0 for the EOS M50.

TIA!

Adam

Hello, and welcome to the Forum!

The second link you posted (Download Firmware Version 1.1.0 for the EOS M50) is the correct link. However, if your OS is a Mac flavor, there isn't a download available. Canon thinks you need a "Disc image" or *.DMG file. In reality, in this case, you just need the ZIP that contains the *.FIR (firmware) file and the PDF install instructions. There may not be one for Windows 11 either, but I didn't look.

Go to your link, scroll down a bit, select Windows 10 as your OS. Then confine the list to "Firmware".

You will see the file you need at the top (I just checked). If you are using a Mac, it will open the ZIP just like Windows.

Hi and welcome to the forum:
Try these links, as appropriate:
EOS M50 Firmware Update, Version 1.1.0 [Windows] (custhelp.com)
EOS M50 Firmware Update, Version 1.1.0 [Mac OS X] (custhelp.com)

If this resolves your issue, please mark as a solution so you won't get on-going message about it.

Greetings,

Firmware is operating system agnostic.  You can use any download as the file itself is the same for the camera.

FW v1.1.0 - The M50 requires 2 files be put in the root of your SD card:

CF19.DAT <<< copy this file to the card first

CCF19110.FIR   <<< copy this file to the card second

You can grab the firmware here:

https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDQwMDAwNjE0MjAx&cmp=ABR&lang=EN

The download also includes instructions.  Let us know if you have any questions 😃

Spot on! Apparently the flavor of the OS mattered.

Thanks all!
