My computer says it's MACOS Sonoma. I have a Rebel XT camera but when I search it up in the EOS utility I do not see that as an option. I was just wondering if there was an alternative that I can use to download these images

Image Capture/Photos should work just fine. Depending on the age of your computer, you may need a USB-C to USB-A adapter.
Counter-intuitively, you want to set "Communication" to Print/PTP.

Hey thanks for responding. I downloaded the image capture app, however I am unsure where to obtain the up address and port information though.

There is no reason to "download" anything, or configure port and ip address. Image Capture is a standard application included on every Mac in the Applications folder. Just click on it. If your camera is plugged in, it will show up in the side bar.
