DPP not seeing jpg or cr2 photos

I just bought a used PowerShot S120. Everything works great on it! So, I downloaded and installed DPP. I attached my S120 to my Windows 10 laptop using the USB to Mini USB cord. Then open the location/folder to the my S120. DPP doesn't see anything! Not cr2. Not even jpg! However, explorer opens them so I know they are readable...I really don't want to need to download Gimp...HELP!!

TIA!

Dell Latitude 5290 2 in 1 with Windows 10 (version 21H2)

Downloaded the file and DPP opens up. However, it downloads the photo into my Pictures Folder and opens up the Pictures Folder. I can then look for the file and click it to open in DPP. It does not just open the cr2 file only.

It does open DPP. However, DPP does not open the photo. Instead, it takes me to my Pictures Folder.

Almost sounds like Windows is doing an automatic import. Can you see the image in the pictures folder?

Yes, the cr2 image is in the Pictures folder.

Do you have a local camera club you could contact for assistance?

I have no idea. I can contact the photography store and ask?

If you have a real photography store they might be able to assist.

Also try and search Google for camera clubs in your area.

I am out of any other thoughts. Sorry I couldn't get this resolved for you.

It is very hard to resolve issues remotely when one computer is working and the other isn't and all things seem to be the same.

I completely understand.

It is an actual camera store, Horn Photo. I didn't buy my s120 there. So I guess I can call and ask for help. Never hurts to ask.

Thank you for trying. I appreciate it.

Maybe contact these folks as well: Fresno Camera Club

I belong to my local camera club and we will help anyone who contacts us - member or not.

I think I figured DDP4 out. DPP4 works best to open files that are on the drive of your computer. From my Pictures folder, I can right click a cr2 file and choose which program to open it with. But, with DPP4, (after I open DDP4) I still need to scroll to the cr2 file I want to edit and click it open.
