Canon eos R6 II not connecting to eos utility with firmware 1.1.2

Hello,

Since upgrading to firmware 1.1.2 on my eos R6 II, it won't connect to the eos utility app, neither the 3.16 or 3.17.
This behaviour was reproduced with many computers, cables.
I also took it in to the official Canon pro service partner near where I live, they had the same problem with multiple tries, and told me it must be a software problem, and wait for the solution.
Has anyone read anything about this problem? It's really bugging me, I was depending on this app in my workflow.

I just ran into the same issue and got mine kicked and reliable again (for now) by going into settings.  Wrench - Page 5 - Choose USB connection app - Select "Photo Import/Remote Control".  And possibly... go back in and select it a second time even though it's been selected and probably already was selected :).   YMMV.

Greetings,

I am not aware of any connectivity issues with FW 1.1.2 and either EOS Utility v3.16 or 3.17, but I do not own this device.

I don't believe you said which OS you were using.  Is the camera detected by the OS at all when connected?  Either Image Capture on MAC or Windows Explorer in windows?

I understand Load/Save Settings on Card is not available on the R62, but I'd try the reset Main and Custom settings and retest.  So many issues can be resolved doing so.  Not guaranteeing anything, but its always something we recommended to ensure a common starting point.  If after doing so and the behavior persists, you can open a case and report the issue to Canon.  I called about 3 weeks ago to have the BG-R10 added to the product database.  I didn't believe I was the only one to report it.  It took about 3 weeks, but it was added.  If there is an issue, it needs to be reported so support can investigate and address it.

While reverting to a previous FW version is possible, you are correct, its not officially supported or recommended.  It might work 90% of the time, but "bricking" is possible and yes, its not worth it.
