I have a canon 70-200 EF 2.8 USM lens, version I with no IS, and I need to get a tripod mount ring for it. What version of the mount fits that lens?

You will probably need to go third party, as discussed here:

Correct. What I need to know is what ring will fit it. Thanks for your input.

It should have come with one. It did not? I suspect a Canon brand will be very expensive so tighten your seatbelt. I believe the lens has been discontinued too, so Canon is no longer making the ring tripod mount. That means finding NOS or used.

It did not. I purchased it used...the only way I could afford an L lens at this time. I was just wondering what model of ring would work so that I don't buy one only to find that it doesn't fit. Thanks for your input.
