Is there a way to charge while the camera is on?
The charger works with the camera powered off, but I purchased this charger intending to trickle charge the battery while the camera is in use for a long livestream.
Is there a setting or other accessory that could extend the battery life?

Greetings,
The PD-E1 can be used to charge, but not power the camera. The camera has to be off to charge.

The kit you want is Canon AC-E19 adapter and DR-E19 dummy battery.
