Experience with Zeiss Pre-Moistened Lens Cleaning Wipes?

Good day,
Has anyone any experience with Zeiss Pre-Moistened Lens Cleaning Wipes?
Any associated risk when using with lenses?
We have observed that use with eye glasses (Varilux) caused delamination and eventually damaged said glasses.
We read various opposing reviews.
Any advise when it comes to lenses and specifically Canon lenses?

Cyrilbrd,

I use the Zeiss eyeglass wipes from Walmart all the time and have never had a problem.

They contain isopropyl alcohol.

From Sky and Telescope Magazine:

"For tougher dirt or stains, various lens-cleaning solutions are available. Good ones are pure isopropyl alcohol or methyl alcohol (methanol), available in drug stores and hardware stores, respectively."

We use them on sunglasses and phone screens all the time.  I have used them on a lens once of twice with caution, use a rocket blower first to make sure no loose residue is on the lens, a moist wipe could possibly grab a particle of sand and be dragged across the lens.  I usually find that a microfibre cloth works best if I have to wipe a lens.  But I don't believe an occasional cleaning with the wipe will hurt anything.

Thanks for the feedback.
Maybe we got unlucky with our coating, the delamination is quite severe on two different glasses from two different suppliers.
Probably bad luck since it seem that this product is being used with no side effects by other users.
After all, even this product is recommended : here
We will also look from K&F and Altura locally.

I've been using those for years on my eye glasses, that have multiple types of coatings, with no ill effects. As for my camera lenses, nothing touches them because I use "protecto" filters. To clean those, I do use the Zeiss towlets and a PEC-PAD to wipe off any residue. If I don't have either handy, I use my t-shirt 🙂

I see, maybe the quality of the coating here is not as good as where you are. Would not be surprised.
Or we just got unlucky.
Will look into these Protecto filters.
Used to use my bataclava, but these were other times.
