1DsMKII Battery Charger.

I have had my 1DsMKII for ever. Now when I plug the batteries into the NC-E2 Charger only the "Refresh" yellow lamp comes on , sometimes flashing, sometimes on solid, and the batteries do NOT charge.

Am I missing something?

"Charge" light never comes on.

The Refresh cycle takes about 8-9 hours. No charging will take place until the Refresh cycle has completed.

Have you waited 8-9 hours for the cycle the complete?

YES I have and the "Charge" light never appears. 2 batteries connected.

What is so unusual is that the copy of the Instruction Manual you post above is NOT included in original "Owners Manual"

Thanks!

Gentlemen!!!

Feel free to call me that!!!

Of course, you have either a bad battery or a bad charger.  Here’s some food for thought.

I ran into a similar issue with my 1D Mark IV.  My battery would not always charge.  I only use it indoors at home, so I figured an AC adapter would work around the problem.  But, the cost of AC adapter was enough to make me pause.

So, I bought a used 1Ds Mark III for $100 more than the cost of the AC adapter alone.  The camera came with a battery, a charger, AND the AC adapter.

Read above ^^^^^..Thanks!

This body makes some super files but the longevity appears to be limited.

That is fine! I will just use another Canon body. I have a few.

Thanks for your input!
