connect Canon vixia hf r400 to laptop

Want to use my VIXIA HF R400 as a video input to Skype on my PC laptop.  What's the easiest and least expensive way?

Thanks for posting.

Canon's VIXIA camcorders cannot be used as webcams via USB. The only way to capture while recording is to use an HDMI capture device on your computer. Canon does not offer support for this type of connection, so you'll want to check with your computer manufacturer to see if they have a solution, that includes the required hardware, software and support, for this.
