File Read Error on my Canon Vixia RF 500.

All of a sudden, after the using the camera successfully for years, I suddenly get a File Read Error on my camera and am unable to record anything.  I have it set to MP4 recording.  Any ideas what is happening and how to solve it?  Thanks

Have you tried a new SD card?

Have you formatted the SD card in the camera?

Is it a full size card or a micro card with adapter?

It is a full size card and I formatted it in the camera.  I have been using these discs for years and this problem has appeared literally overnight.

Hi there,

It would be a good idea to try one new SD card that you have not used before jsut to confirm that the issue is not specific to these cards. I think something between 16GB and 32GB would be best since those were two of the most common sizes when the camera was released and the 64GB+ cards have a slightly different communication method.
