My camera is a VIXIA HF R400. I can copy mp4s from my computer to the camera. However, they don't show up and of course won't play. What's so different about the Canon's MP4 files and one I've created with my computer. This is quite annoying. I spent hours trying to figure out a way to do this but with no luck.

Greetings,

The camera is a capture device.  It is not intended to be used as a playback device for files you might have edited using software on a PC or MAC.  This might be because the file format doesn't match the camera file system.

Hi sbiese52,

Our cameras can only playback unedited videos that were recorded on the camera itself. If you load a video file to the memory card that was made in computer software, if it was edited, or if it was recorded by a different camera your VIXIA HF R400 will not be able to recognize it or play it.
