I am on Sonoma 14.3 and it seems to only intermittently work for some reason.

Same problem here with Sonoma 14.2

And going back to 1.1 solves the problem.

Update - 2.0.30 allegedly works with Ventura, but when I install it, I have the same error.  The regular EOS utility for remote shooting does work, and the key element of the screenshot is that it doesn't have the USB symbol with the X, so something ...
