Yongnuo YN560 IV flash compatibility issues with EOS R6 Mark II

I am new to using a flash in photography and recently purchased a Yongnuo YN560 IV Speedlite flash. I shoot on a Canon R6 Mark ii and have been having trouble trying to sync the external flash with the camera in settings. When I try to enter into "flash function settings", I'm prompted with a message that says "This menu cannot be displayed. Incompatible flash or flash's power is turned off." The power is on on my flash so I know that is not the problem. Is this flash not compatible with the r6 mark ii? If it isn't compatible, what other affordable flash recommendations do you have for this camera? Or am I doing something wrong in the settings? Thank you in advance.

I believe that is a manual flash unit it doesn't talk to the camera for automatic flash control. Other than the camera telling it fire. It can't do anything else than that.

Thank you for the insight. Do you have any recommendations for a beginner flash?

Do you have a budget for a flash if so how much do you want to spend on a flash for your camera.

Preferably less than $150.

Do you want a new flash or a used flash. A new flash with E-TTL support will cost at least $200 for a new flash. Would you like to look into a refurbished flash instead.

As I continue researching I think my budget is going to have to expand. Is the canon EL-5 a good option?

Yes the EL-5 and EL-10 flashes are good flashes to buy. The EL-5 offers more features than the EL-10 does and serves as the midrange speedlite.
