Speedlite EL-5 not firing

Hello!

I have recently purchased a speed lite EL-5 and I can't get it to fire with my camera (5d mark 4). The battery is charged and the test button works so it's just my camera that cannot connect to the flash to fire it.

The EL-5 uses the new multi contact hotshoe and is not compatible with the 5d mk 4:
