Yes, but does it lose link? 8^)

I do hope it solves the link issues. If this had come out a few months ago, I would have definitely picked it up to see if it would fix things. Though it's too late now as I sold all my 600-EX-RTs 😄

Hmm, in looking at the product photos again, I don't think it was wise to have the link LED be red 😁

I'm trying to work out what is new compared to the ST-E3-RT ver2, as from studying the info on the website I am struggling to find a difference? Also I'm assuming the ver3 retains the older style hotshoe not the new multifunction accessory shoe fitment.

The implied change is that the mention of "Reliable Information Transmission and Operation" is that Canon has addressed the dropping communication problem. Though we'll have to wait until the units get into the hands of those experiencing the issues with the gen 1 and gen 2 units.

Ricky,
I'm one of the fortunate ones who has not experienced the dropped link of the earlier units. My own ST-E3-RT was an early one from 2012 along with a pair of 600EX-RTs I then added a further 600EX-RT, 600EX II-RT plus 430EX III-RT. My original ST-E3-RT was firmware updated to ver2 spec by Canon service and still no drops. Probably jinxed it now 😂

you may not be saturated by 5G devices occupying the 2.4 ghz bandwidth used by canon.

Please feel free to ship me to two to do real trouble shooting in the field and see if it solves the dreaded “ Link Drop” issue many here have been experiencing.

I found the User Manual for the new ST-E3-RT (Ver. 3) on one of Canon's international websites. With only some minor changes the manuals for the Ver. 2 and Ver. 3 triggers are identical. Most importantly, in the specifications section I found that the radio systems appear unchanged.
Frequency: 2405 - 2475 MHz
Modulation System: Primary modulation: OQPSK; Secondary modulation: DS-SS
Channel: Auto, 1 - 15
Wireless Radio ID: 0000 - 9999
So, it seems unlikely the new ST-E3-RT (Ver. 3) trigger will solve the dropped linked Wi-Fi issues with the RT system that many users are experiencing and reporting in this forum unless there is some change to the FW that automatically resets the link if the flashes and triggers disconnect. I am not hopeful. ☹️
