Salt Marsh Birds

Some salt marsh birds, my first outing in 2026.  These were taken at Surf City on Topsail Island, North Carolina.  It was high tide in the marsh so not a lot of birds present, but there were a few at very close range.  I was mostly shooting a pair of Hooded Mergansers that surprisingly didn't fly as soon as I approached.  A great Egret and two Tricolored Herons all at this little pond in the marsh.  As I was ready to leave another Tricolor flew in.

Glad you were able to have fun and thanks for sharing the results with us!  Nice that they decided to not fly away, for sure!
