Golden Eagle R5 Mark II & RF200-800mm F6.3-9 IS USM Handheld
This Golden Eagle is waiting for its mate. When I got to the spot from where I took this photo, a photographer who had been there a few hours prior, told me that 30 minutes before I got there the pair had been mating. It's mating season after all ! 🥸

Hello!
That’s a wonderful moment to capture, Joe — the Golden Eagle waiting for its mate during mating season makes for a powerful image, especially with the story from the other photographer adding context. Your note really conveys both the patience of wildlife photography and the reward of being in the right place at the right time. And those Ansel Adams quotes you included fit perfectly: knowing where to stand, and making the photograph, not just taking it. It’s a lovely blend of observation, artistry, and timing.
