Hello,
I had the same Windows 11 update problem as everyone else, and I solved it at first by moving to the CaptureOnTouch 4.14 software. I made sure the settings were exactly the same as what I was using before (which was the 2.8 version of the software). I then scanned the same document with the old (on a different computer) and new software. A two page grayscale scan that was 1.91 MB with the old software was 4.66 MB with the new software. When I print them both out, they look identical, so there is no quality improvement associated with this size increase.
Also, now I can't specify my filename... I need to let it save it as image_001 and then change it manually after the fact... which is less efficient.
This inspired me to try harder to solve the problem without upgrading the software, and in the end I was able to go back to the old software (for now, at least). But going down-rev is never a good long term solution.
1. Does anyone know why the file size would have changed, and if there's a new setting in the new software that I just need to tweak?
2. Is there a button or setting that I just didn't see, that will let me specify the filename like I did before?
Thank you.
