I updated to version 5 from version 4. I backed up the settings in the "environmental setting" and tried to restore it but got an error that stated that it was the wrong scanner so I plugged in my old DR-M160 and got the same message. I talked to tech support and the same thing happened to them. This happened two weeks ago they said that they were going to have the engineers look into this they did not call back. Anyhoo I had to re-setup my button profiles from scratch. Now when I push the "Start" button on the scanner it takes 2-3 seconds before the scan initiates. Does anybody know if I may have a setting wrong in the new profile(s) I had to setup because I could not restore my backup?

Hi Fixer32!
Thanks for your post. I see that it takes 2-3 seconds for scanning to commence when pressing the Start button on your imageFORMULA DR-M160 II. You also mention that you have adjusted the button settings within the CaptureOnTouch application to accommodate the job you need to perform.
Once you press the Start button, the scanner will begin communicating with the CaptureOnTouch program so that it scans appropriately. There may be a little delay while the information is being transferred and processed.
If you have not done so, I recommend restarting your computer. If you are using a USB cable that is longer than 6 feet to connect your scanner to your computer, I recommend switching to a shorter cable. We recommend using a USB cable that is no longer than 6 feet.
If restarting your computer does not help and the cable is 6 feet or shorter, I recommend scanning directly from the CaptureOnTouch program to see if it responds any faster.
If you do notice a difference in the response time when scanning from CaptureOnTouch, or if it is still taking longer to start than you would like, I recommend calling us so we can check your settings.
You can reach us at 1-800-652-2666, Monday - Friday 9:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. ET (excluding holidays).
While you are on the phone with us, we can check if there is any word back from the Engineers regarding your first issue.
I hope this information helps. Thanks again.
