CaptureOnTouch V5 Pro not detecting zone?

The scanner is a DR-C240 but I don't think that matters, just fyi.

The software works great....except for one issue.  I have set a zone to read a 6 digit number.  I want that number to be part of the filename.  Scanning does/will not detect the contents of the zone, so <ZONE_1> in the filename setting does not get updated.  When I "test" the detection in settings, it works every time.  I have found an OCR program that does work but CaptureOnTouch V5 Pro has a cleaner interface and is free.

A bit more info...I set a detection condition to insert 999999 in the file name when nothing is detected in the zone.  999999 does not get inserted.  So...it may be detecting the digits in the area but doing nothing with them.

This project needed to be wrapped up so I purchased Readiris PDF.  It worked just fine, just not free.
