I have a Canon 9000F mark II flatbed scanner; attached to a MacBook now running sequoia. The Apple utility Image Capture stopped working with the 9000 with Sonoma and still doesn't work with Sequoia. I've looked for new Mac OS drivers, but upon arriving at that page, it states the scanner is not compatible with both Sonoma (14) and now Sequoia (15). Why doesn't Canon update the 9000 driver for these latest versions of Mac OS?? I see notes in the thread below that are more than a year old, saying they are awaiting for new drivers.

I can't help but I do feel sorry for you Mac people. It is terrible the way Apple handles OS upgrades. Perhaps Canon doesn't do the latest Mac OS is because the Canon 9000F mark II has been discontinued. Why you folks put up with each OS upgrade and wonder if your gear and apps will still run is beyond me.
To rub salt in to your score, I have the 9000F first model on my PC and it still works perfectly. My son has a Mac and goes through the same thing. I know there are some "tricks" you can do to get some older apps and gear to work but you need to ask a good Mac person how to do it.

I went to the Canon Canoscan 9000F markII driver download site and selected Venture as Mac OS. The 9000F markII scanner driver ver.19.3.0(Mac) will pop up. Download it and install it, and the Canon scan utility will work again. The only drawback is to go thru the same process when you need to scan items.

I have the previous version of the scanner, the 9000F, and just got a new M4 MBP. I had the scanner working as expected on my old M1 MBP on Sequoia so I was stymied trying to get it to work with the new laptop.
After many hours with ChatGPT, I ended up with this solution:
I deleted/removed EVERYTHING that I'd installed trying to fix things. This was tedious but I didn't want a file remnant to be the fault.
After that the scanner appeared in the Printer & Scanner setup (via Settings) and works like a charm.
I know your scanner is the 9000 Mk II but maybe an adaptation of this approach might help. Good luck!
