Weird striped pattern on background with C300 mark iii

Danieltailor

Hello!

Does anyone know the cause of this striped pattern on the background? Is it the camera, lens or lights thats the problem?

I shot with c300 mark iii in canon raw LT, 25fps, 180 degree shutter.

Lens was sigma 24-70 2.8.

Thanks!

Perhaps moire caused by thread pattern of the backdrop.

I agree with John. That's moire patterning caused by the interaction of the fabric pattern and the camera sensor.. To mitigate this when shooting it helps if the background is slightly out of focus. Use a wide aperture and stop down using an ND filter for a shallower depth of field.
