I keep getting task in progress message when I go to shut down the camcorder. I’m new to this device. From my understanding the access light needs to be off then it’s safe to turn off. Is that right? I’m just not sure how to know when it’s safe to turn the camera off without losing data. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello misshannahree,
You are correct in that you do not want to disconnect the power source or turn the camcorder off while the Access indicator is illuminated or blinking. You also do not want to open the card compartment cover or change the camcorder's operating mode. When the SD card contains a large number of clips, some operations may take longer than usual. If the camcorder Access lamp is red or flashing excessively, you may need to initialize the card being used with the camcorder or try a different card. Initializing a card will permanently erase any data currently on that card, so be sure to copy that data from the card prior to initializing it.
