So the C80 has been out for almost 10 months now, but it is still missing basic features that was present in the older C70. I initially thought it'll be rolled out in a firmware update, but fast forward to the recent July update and these basic features are still missing.
1. View assist on log footage during playback - C70 has this feature. Even the non-cinema R5 II has this. Why would a cinema camera disable view assist during playback is baffling to me, and often leads to clients asking why the footage looks washed out when showing a playback.
2. Customizable select dial - Canon added it to the C70 through a firmware update, but some how it was removed from the C80? Very weird.
Contacted Canon to ask why these features were missing/removed, but they simply didn't give an explanation.
