Feature Request – Elapsed Recording Time Display (EOS C80)

Dear Canon Product Development Team,

I would like to submit a feature request for the Canon EOS C80.

Currently, while recording video, it is not possible to clearly see the elapsed clip duration in a persistent and highly visible way on the main display. For many professional workflows (interviews, documentaries, live events, long takes), being able to monitor the exact elapsed recording time during capture is essential.

I would like to request the addition of:

• A clearly visible, real-time elapsed recording time counter while recording
• Optional customization (position on screen and size)
• The ability to toggle it on/off via the display menu or assign it to a custom button

This feature would greatly improve on-set time management, help with interview pacing, and ensure compliance with broadcast or delivery time constraints.

Several competing cinema cameras offer a more prominent or customizable recording duration display, and adding this functionality would further enhance the professional usability of the EOS C80.

Thank you for your continued firmware support and improvements to the Cinema EOS lineup.

You do have to register with Canon to get your feedback considered.

Morning,

You don't need to register.  You can provide your name and email address but no registration is required.

I tried it. If you submit a suggestion, you will get an email back saying it won't be considered because you did not register, or don't have a Canon account.
