Is it necessary to remove the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x to black balance on the C70? The manual says to remove the lens and attach the front cap but I’m hoping it’s possible to black balance with the speed booster on instead of having to unscrew and detach it. Thank you!

Greetings,
The instruction for my R5 C state to remove any lens, put a body cap and run ABB. I wouldn't do it with any optics on the body. I'd expect it to be the same for the C70. It's a 60 second procedure.

It can be longer than 60 seconds to deal with removing the 0.71x adapter if you attached the four mounting bolts.
I have personally left mine on when doing black balancing.

Thanks! Since I've started using the mounting screws for heavier lenses I was hoping that would be possible. Good to know I won't be alone trying at least 🙂
