imagePROGRAF Pro-1000 - Paper information not updating

Stumck

Hi there,

I'm trying to print on Canon Premium Fine Art Smooth Paper. I have updated the firmware on the printer, and added the paper information, however it's not showing on the printer. I ended up reinstalling the drivers and going through the process again, still nothing. Any ideas?

Have you installed the Media Configuration Tool? If not go to the Canon site and get that tool. When you set it up at launch, connecting your printer, it will sync the papers between your printer and the driver. Further, if you create any custom papers in the Media Configuration Tool, you will be prompted to sync again.

Yes, went through the process of adding new paper information for Premium Fine Art Smooth and other papers. I see the communication with the printer, update the drivers with the new paper info. However, when I look at the printer, the new paper is not there even though the Media Config tool says it is.

Have you unintentionally installed the dreaded Air Print driver? You want the full IJ print driver.

Just the full IJ driver, just double checked.

  1. What printer application are you using as you access the print driver?
  2. What operating system are you using?
  3. Is this a new set up, or have you successfully printed before the firmware update? Just trying to get an understanding of where you are in the process.

Printing through Photoshop and Lightroom.
Mac OS - Sequoia 15.4.1
Not a new set up, have been using the printer and Mac for a long time. The only thing that is new is the paper....

Well, you certainly have an issue here; maybe this is why I have not yet updated my OS to Sequoia. 😉

I have read of others with issues with Sequoia; maybe the firmware update messed you up. My last approach would be to delete all Canon printer driver files from your OS, purging the system fully, then reinstall the driver again. If that does not resolve your issue, you may have to resort to a phone call with Canon tech.

I'll be interested to know how this resolves. Good luck.
