Hi all,
Hoping someone here has seen this before. I just unboxed a brand new printer that’s been sitting in sealed storage since 2020. Setup went smoothly, and I installed the original ink cartridges (still sealed and unexpired). All colors are printing fine except red—it’s completely missing from every test print.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Ran over 30 cleaning cycles through the printer utility.
Performed nozzle checks and only redisn’t showing.
Tried the deep/power cleaning function (if available on my model).
Removed the magenta cartridge, checked for clogs, and made sure ink is flowing.
Still no improvement—red is just not coming through.
Before I try soaking the print head or ordering replacement cartridges, does anyone have experience reviving a single color channel after long-term storage?
Any suggestions appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't classify your situation as "long term storage". If the printer was never used there wouldn't be any dried-up ink blockage in the printhead.
Since you have verified that the cartridge is flowing ink it sounds like the printhead or the printer is defective.
