Platinum Pro N Paper

Does anyone know where this new paper can be purchased? The new 1.02 printer driver has this paper as a choice.

Re: Platinum Pro N Paper

Hi jrhoffman75,

The N profile for the Platinum Pro paper is the same as the "non-N" profile for the most part.  Both profiles will work with the Pro Platinum paper, but we do not specifically produce Pro Platinum N paper.  The "N" is just to differentiate the new profile (which was updated slightly with the recent drivers) from the original.  Both profiles were left in the drivers for those users that still preferred to stick with the original profile.

Re: Platinum Pro N Paper

Hi. The reason I asked the question on the forum was because this is a reply I received from Canon:

"Thank you for contacting Canon product support regarding the different media types from the PIXMA PRO-100.

Yes, Photo Paper Pro Platinum N is a newer version of the original paper.  It provides better quality and long lasting beauty along with Canon ChromaLife100+ ink tanks.  Along with the media type setting the updated drivers will also include ICC profiles for the paper.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance with your PIXMA PRO-100.

Thank you for choosing Canon."

Re: Platinum Pro N Paper

You can rest assured the currently available Photo Paper Pro Platinum is the "N" version. Unless the vendor you buy from has some old stock of course.

Canon often updates the printer profiles and puts some letter or number associated with it to indicate a newer profile. It is nice that they maintain the older ones, because some of us are fixed in our ways and prefer the known performance.

But if they didn't make improvements the company would be standing still and soon over run by the ever present competition.
