So my cousin gave me his Pixma Pro-100 printer but it won't print because the error light flashes 4 times stating that the ink cartridges are empty or not installed so I tried replacing them but I still get the same 4 flashes. Anything else I should be trying. Open to any suggestions.

Was it working for your cousin before he gave it to you?
You could try removing and reseating the print head.
