Pixma PRO - 200S Registration Error

MktgDrJeff

Just unpacked it from B&H, and trying to register it. I am told that the Serial Number means it is from the gray market. From B&H it is not gray market. How to I get it registered?

Hi Jeff! Thanks for contributing to the Canon Community. I see that you are unable to register the printer due to a problem with the printer's serial number.

You mention that you are being told that the serial number is from a gray market. In order to figure out what may be happening, we will need the first four letters from the printer's serial number.

The serial number should consist of 4 capital letters followed by 5 numbers. For example, the serial number would look something like this:
ABCD12345

You will find the serial number all by itself on a sticker on the back of the printer. To see an article that shows the location of the printer's serial number, please visit the following link.

https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/s/article/ART179284

Also, please make sure that you are registering your printer on the proper website. To register the printer, you will need to create a Canon account. You can open (or create) your account at the following web address:

https://myid.canon/canonid/#/login

Once you are in your account, you can register the printer.

If this information does not help, please reply to this post and give us the first 4 letters in your printer's serial number.

Thanks again.
