Pixma 9500 Mk II - Unused for 2 yrs

Finally got a stable enough set of time to get out my printer and do some printing only to find it prints 2-3 inks of 10.

I also find installing the drivers on Windows 10 hangs (cant discover the printer, although when it was plugged into the USB, Windows found it no problem).  Thus making it a challenge to use the maintenance program.

Do I just need to replace the cartridges or is it FUBAR?

Head may need cleaning.

Now really, did you need to ask that question?  Of course you need new cartridges. 

Did you check the Canon drivers page for Win 10 update?  Do so.

As to the Win 10 drivers, it hangs on install searching for the printer, then says it didn't find it

First get a new "real" printer USB cabel.  Next try a different USB port on your computer.

Sorry forgot to mention, I've worked for Microsoft for 20 yrs and been in the industry for 34, so Iknow just a little bit about computers...I've already been through checking that as well, though.  Thanks for the "help"

If I have trouble updating my Canon driver I uninstall the old driver. That has solved my problems.

This is so true and MUST be done or there will be issues.  Even for 20 year folks!

This machine has never had anything of CAnon's installed

Was the printer already discovered by Windows when you went to install the driver?

Were you trying to install the 2.70 driver or the XPS driver?
