New imageGRAF Pro 310 print head problem

Brand new Pro 310 printer and trying to set it up but there seems to be an issue with either the print head. When I first powered it on and went through the initial setup, the auto print head alignment failed. When I printed the nozzle check none of the colors on the right side of the printer appeared (attached photo). I took out all the cartridges and reseated the print head but the problem persists. Any idea what might be occurring? Or do I have a defective printer that needs returned. (PS, firmware is 2.020 and an attempt to update it to the current 2.040 from my Mac failed with an error and to try again later, which also did not work.)

Since it is brand new are you near the purchase location to return it?

If not give Canon support in your region a call.

Thanks for the suggestion. I live where good printers have to be ordered by post so I’d have to rerun it. I’d prefer not to but I couldn’t locate a  photo number to call Canon USA support. All my clicking led me to this forum so I am hoping there’s an easy fix so I don’t have to return it. 

Return not rerun. lol. 

Go to the Canon support site for your printer, register the product and request support.
