My Pro-200 Printer Prints Too Dark on Matte Cardstock

I am printing Photoshop Elements 2023 images on matte cardstock.

Photos print much too dark. How do I adjust the brightness to get a brighter print?

thanks

I should have noted that the paper is International Paper Accent Opaque 16 pt  Cover Smooth, 120 pt.
I tried making the photo markedly brighter in PSE and saved the trial image. I cannot detect the difference. Do I need to adjust the printer profile and give it a name?

thanks

Hi,

You can try adjusting the printing profile but if that does not work,  I recommend you reach out to Canon support. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

We look forward to hearing from you.

According to the vendor website it is an uncoated paper. Not the best choice for dye inks like the Pro-200.

What Canon media type are you choosing in the printer application?

Windows PC or macOS? Do you have the Canon printer driver installed? If macOS is it the Canon IJ Series driver of the Apple AirPrint driver (which you do not want).

If Windows you could try adjusting output in the printer driver and save it as a preset.

This is for my Pro-100 but you should have a similar driver.

For macOS (this is print screen for Ps, but PSE should be similar:

1. set Printer manages color.

2. select Print to open the driver and then select Printer Options and the Color Options:
